چکیده
Background and objectives: Hypocalcemia is a common complication in patients after total thyroidectomy. This study was undertaken to identify risk factors for post thyroidectomy hypocalcemia. To evaluate the of hypocalcemia, order enable early management, avoid complications, treat accordingly. Method: A longitudinal performed from January 2019 February 2022. All cases Thyroidectomy were included which totaled 27. Ionized serum calcium with Parathyroid Hormone, serum, magnesium, phosphate vitamin D all measured every patient preoperatively then postoperatively once, eight hours first 48 hours. Results: Our results showed an overall significant difference readings at different times, mean pre-operative reading (9.6 mg/dl), greater than 24 post-operative that (8.72 mg/dl) (p < 0.001), incidence hypocalcemia 51.9% Hormone level only factor developing other none them significant.
